Would you drop $2000 on this device after seeing these stories emerge?

No way, I am more than happy with a budget phone that can pretty much satisfy all my digital needs. By the way, I love your show man. Love Willie Du. Love from Kolkata, India. God bless all of you working at lew later and unbox therapy.
Somebody once told me
It's a gimmicky 1st gen folding phone, it's gonna lose it value in couple month. Probably gonna snatch one if the price drop is reasonable

Oh yes, until they become too mean like Apple someday. They're really quite brave (or fools) with all their implementations of innovations here but at least they seemed determined about it. I basically respect them for this unfolding phone they showed us all for real, where we somewhat got some real ideas about what the future phones might look like. I really hope Galaxy Fold retails soon even though I am not gonna buy their first two iterations of folding phones for sure!

Not a chance.

wait a second i paid two thousand dollars for a phone and it falls apart and im told its because i pulled off the screen protector and its my fault? so the two thousand dollar phone is being held together by a sticker? NO. samsung. fix it.

To me it looks more like some tiny internal metal part breaking loose off the mainframe accidentally: just beneath that ever so soft screen! Also it could very possibly be a lump on the battery (just saying). I own an S9 plus here in India because I have loved Samsung since the day they brought their folding tech into play with the 'note edge' and they have just improved over time at it. I think they really should provide their snapdragon version of flagships globally. I skipped the S10 SOLELY for this reason, and might as well buy the OP7 pro. We're paying full bucks afterall so indeed we want full value as well. I feel somewhat like 'underprivileged for no reason bcz I am somewhat forced to use exynos over snapdragon and Lew I absolutely love the way you speak out to us, great job man, keep it up!

soo much talk man. Re-repeating all that is said before
Keepmguessin - 2 mesi fa
My question is, why is there a notch on the big screen... there's no need for a notch. And if the ne galaxy note 10 is going to have in screen fingerprint scanner, then this should also. Flagship means It should have latest tech, and it's a luxury. Complaining about the cost in a luxury item is like saying millionaires should have to share their wealth just because others are poor.

First off, the hot coffee thing was hot enough to cause that old woman 3rd degree burns and she had to have skin grafting because the coffee was served at 190 degrees, way hotter than anyone could physically drink without causing serious harm. McDonald's bashed her to cover themselves, seriously don't talk that down

There’s nothing more satisfying then to pull the plastic covering off the screen of a new phone. That’s the first thing 99% of consumers do when they get a new phone. It’s not consumer error if the company doesn’t tell us not to take that film off. Unless they state it from the start every regular person will pull that film off and BAM dead screen. But that’s just my two cents

And as of yesterday, even Mr.Mobile's review unit has developed a foreign-object-intrusion buldge under the fold's screen.

this could have been a true test. Send out 40 phones and see what happens. You guys are very mindful of tech BUT y'all also are a controlled test group of average people with natural curiosity. some may be clumsy, some may have super active lifestyles, some more laid back. I think this was a great test.

FIRST PROBLEM SOLUTION: Forget about the warning message. Samsung, just extend the outer film all the way around "under" the bazel. If people don't see the edge, they won't peel it. Fool proof it!!! You're welcome, Samsung. Please send the reward Lew Later.

1st gen or not, the fact that it breaks that easily just for peeling off the screen protector, after paying 2k for it??? Sorry I just cant defend Samsung for that one. And I'm a fan. I'm on my 3rd samsung phone. My opinion is, this device was rushed and I don't blame people like mkbhd for peeling off the screen protector.

Moral of the Story .. Stick it in a Vacuum sealed bag and never take it out for fear of fluff , clay or another other substance creeping in the gaps ! hehe it will be like The Boy in a bubble, unable to come out in the real world becasue just a cold will kill him !

What about people that work in dirty environments? Does that mean Samsung will lose that part of the market wirh folding phones?
superkallefrageliste - 2 mesi fa
Buying a device that is kinda cool, but generally extremely fragile, like EXTREMLY. I mean no matter the tech, if I stuff that phone into my pockets and ANYTHING could potentially break it, not scratch ... no straight up kill it. The other thing, I personally don't stand the feeling of that protective layer that has to cover the screen to keep it "save?", and that is a glued on layer... with time 100% wear off If you use the phone. AND THE FACT THAT YOU CAN EASYLIE STRIPP OFF A PIECE OF CHEAP LAYER AND IT ALL BREAKS .... common seriously? The price tag, the feel of the screen, the extreme fragile ness of the screen/hinge thing, not closing flat (looks so stupid once its folded because our the gap on the hinge side) .... far from being a finished product. Not worth the money if you want a device that is designed to be used IRL and not in a lab.......

How many smartphones have you seen that allow small stuff from your pockets creep behind the screen till now? and how do you blame the user for such a design flaw?
Arrow2YourKnee - 2 mesi fa
@jahl3al Brown I agree, but there's a big difference between innovative imperfection and flawed design
